MY JOURNEY
Often we forget the adventure we've been on leading up to where we are now. I think we gain much more depth and unique insight if we consider the road we've been on. Follow me as I show you a bit of my story which prepared me for the working world...
It all began when I started making Powerpoints for fun as a kid
I got my very first camera at 12
During high-school in Jeffreys Bay,
I chose business studies and dramatic arts as my electives.
For the past 3 years, I have been studying at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth. I am concluding my BA Degree in Media, Communication and Culture. Here, I've specifically chosen to stream in Design, while also taking subjects such as Film, Advertising, Cultural Studies and French.
After matriculating, I spent two years studying film and working as an intern and videography coach at
Media Village, Cape Town
Along with my studies, I've been freelancing as an illustrator, videographer and photographer. I often film weddings with VanBode, a local wedding photography and videography company and second-shoot weddings with other photographers.
Hopefully, if all goes as planned, I will graduate this year!
I have so many ideas for the future, but for now, I'm gearing up for Honours in Media Studies (and then Masters). I know continuing with postgraduate studies will benefit me greatly in future as I want to offer a critical edge with my work. Here's to an unknown, but exciting, future where I'll continue making - I can't imagine a life without it!
thanks for adventuring with me!
